Who we are
The Inner West Tech Advisory committee is a collaboration between Inner West Startups & Tech and experienced professionals from government, industry and the not-for-profit sector.
We bring together people who regularly review products, proposals, business cases and technology solutions, providing practical feedback to help startups refine their ideas and better understand what potential customers are looking for.
What we do
Organisations receive countless approaches from businesses offering new products and services. Many are genuinely innovative, but often the pitch doesn’t clearly communicate the problem being solved, the value being delivered, or why the solutions stands out.
We help startups strengthen their proposition by testing ideas, challenging assumptions and providing practical feedback from a range of customer perspectives, including government, commercial and community sectors.
Our goal is to help founders better understand their market, sharpen their messaging and improve their readiness to engage with potential customers, partners and investors.
What we are not
We are not a procurement panel, investment committee or purchasing body.
Participation does not guarantee funding, procurement opportunities, contracts, partnerships or endorsements. The purpose of the panel is to provide independent feedback, insights and guidance to help startups improve their offering and approach to market.
Where you come in…
The panel of experts is what we're building here. Startups submit their product or service to us, and we review it — but no small group has the range to properly assess everything that comes through. So we keep a pool of founders, operators and technical people we can call on when something lands that fits their patch. Same goes for council problems that sit in your area.
What it involves
No fixed meetings, no term. We get in touch when something suits your experience, and you say yes or no based on what's on your plate that month.
